Motorola Surf A3100

The good: Excellent voice quality; 3.5mm audio jack; great build quality; 3-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED. The bad: Inconsistencies in the user interface; heavy; lacks high-resolution display; trackball could be better. The bottom line: Not everyone will like the design of the A3100, but Motorola shows it can make a good smartphone even though it hasn't been in this space for some time.

Motorola Dext

Motorola Dext in Asia next year?



Motorola has announced its first Android-based smartphone in the US called the Cliq. This will be available later this year with operator T-Mobile stateside. Outside of the US, this same HSPA-enabled handset will be called the Dext and the company has already announced this for various mobile operators in Europe and South America. Some of its features include a 3.1-inch HVGA display, 3.5mm audio jack and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
